Weekend Getaway: Bretagne

One of the many perks of living in France is the easiness of hoping on a train for a weekend getaway! This past weekend P and I headed to the Bretagne (Brittany) region of France, which is located in the northwest part of the country. We started our weekend in the city of Rennes which was just over a 2 hour ride by train. I had been to Rennes once before and had forgotten how colorful the city was! There were pops of color everywhere. The city has many many students and has a bohemian vibe to it!

Our first stop was to devour some galettes (savory crepes) and cider! This is the specialty of the region and the buckwheat flour used to make the galette is SOOOOO tasty! My go galette is: Egg, ham, cheese, spinach and crème fraiche! SO GOOD!

Saturday we headed out to the countryside where P's family lives. There's nothing quite like wide open spaces to clear your mind! We headed to the beach for a picnic and did some adventuring!

Oh how I've missed wide open spaces and the sea!

I brought back some little treasures as well as fun memories.

We always have such a great time in Brittany! It was a beautiful weekend filled with lots of yummy food, family, sunshine, sea and lots of laughs!

I'm back in Paris now feeling recharged for the week! Happy Monday all!

Etsy Pop-Up Noel

I'm ever-so-grateful to have had the opportunity to sell at the Etsy Pop Up Noël in Paris this past weekend! There were a total of 70 talented creators from all over France who presented at the market. The atmosphere was optimistic and lively! The Etsy team was friendly, helpful and supportive!

This was the first time I'd participated in a craft market of any kind and was a huge step for me because I can be a bit shy when it comes to live events etc. I was a wee bit nervous because I didn't know what to expect, didn't really know how to sell in person and was hoping my work would just speak for itself, which it did! I quickly fell in love with the warm and inviting world of pop-up markets!

It was fun creating my little shop table layout to see how to help guide the customer's eye. It was also cool to see that prints that rarely sell online were more popular in person. My favorite part was getting to meet my customers! It was exciting to see and meet the people who are drawn to my work.

I loved being surrounded by other passionate makers. I just adore the handmade movement and the community it cultivates, allowing makers to make a living off of their craft!

This event gave me confidence as an artist, creative business owner and energized me to push forward with new art and ideas. Yay to the Etsy France community and yay to new experiences! I'm very excited to have been apart of it all!
