the daily french: se détendre

sedetendre the daily french: se détendre / relax

pronounced: [seh deh-tahn-dR]

Thought I'd throw in a reflexive verb today. I'll be spending this week in the south of france with Pierre's family, where I'll be doing a whole lot of relaxing.

Creative Revival

Lately my mind has been feeling a bit foggy and cluttered. So, I decided to go ahead and have myself a little creative revival of a week. Many creatives can relate to those moments where you're just itching to create something new. Ready to just put it all down on paper and get it out of your mind and into your hands. So instead of thinking I just started making and making and making. A whole lotta sketches, photography and weaving later I had some finished art prints and a mens bracelets. I started making bracelets a couple of years ago when I was overly weighed down with advertising/digital work/ graphic design. I just HAD to get out of the computer and start making things with my hands again. Creating with my hands has been a very therapeutic experience, as I'm sure it is for many others.

It was interesting to see the art that I ended up with at the end of the week. It ranges from girly to masculine.

As a creative type, it feels good to spill what's bottled up inside. Are there any other creative souls who feel the same!? I'd love to hear it!

This photo was taken at the food market by our apartment. I had no idea orange, purple and yellow raspberries existed!

Coincidentally my fiancé chef made some gorgeous sweets at home today using framboises!
