Atypique Atípico x EttaVee

Le Trench AA

I had the pleasure of collaborating with Paris/ Guatemalan brand Atypique Atípico on their eco-trench coat project; Le Trench AA. I was thrilled when co-founder Sofia contacted me via Instagram to introduce me to the project.

Sofia, along with her co-founder and sister Cristina, had designed a high-end eco-designed trench coat and were looking for artists to lend their art to their trench's inner-lining. This was such a dream project for me as I've been interested in textile design for the longest time! I transformed one of my most popular prints/ art pieces into a colorful coat lining, which debuted during Paris Fashion Week, October 2016. I LOVE how it turned out!

Le Trench AA comes with a removable and super soft lining made of recycled bottles. Trench owners can then purchase other linings that are apart of AA's Featured Artist Collection which are printed on silk. Featured artists include Guatelmalan artists Santiago Salvador Ascui, Mauricio Contreras Paredes and Paris-based artist EttaVee (moi)!

Atypique Atípico is a eco-design studio & consulting agency. Founded in 2010, the design team is made up of two sister: Cristina and Sofia Linares Orellana.

There will only be 25 EttaVee lining editions made, each numbered like artwork editions.

Le Trench AA was well received during fashion week! I can't wait to see where this project goes and where this trench will end up. I will keep you all updated as to when it's available! Looking forward to more fun projects like this in my future <3
